Hyderabad: In a major boost to India’s clean energy mission, Nextracker (Nasdaq: NXT), a global leader in solar tracking technology, announced it has crossed 10 gigawatts (GW) of solar tracker deployments in India.

The achievement highlights Nextracker’s pivotal role in advancing India’s solar infrastructure and meeting renewable energy goals.

To support its rapid growth and strengthen local capabilities, Nextracker also inaugurated an 80,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art office and R&D facility in Hyderabad, its largest office outside the United States.

The hub includes a 13-acre Center for Solar Excellence (CFSE)—a USD $1 million innovation and testing lab aimed at accelerating India’s solar technology leadership.

“With 10 GW of solar tracker projects either delivered or in execution, India is a core market for us,” said Rajeev Kashyap, Senior VP & MD, Nextracker (MEA & India). “Our new Hyderabad facility integrates engineering, R&D, and training to develop world-class solar technology tailored for India’s diverse climate conditions.”

Strong Momentum in Solar Growth

Nextracker added 1.8 GW to its India portfolio in Q1 2025, with major wins including a 305 MW project with ReNew in Anantapur and 1.5 GW in partnerships with leading EPCs. These projects extend Nextracker’s reach across India’s fastest-growing solar regions.

“Our collaboration with Nextracker boosts project efficiency,” noted Sanjay Varghese, Group President, Solar Projects & Manufacturing, ReNew. “This partnership is a step forward in scaling our renewable energy operations.”

Make in India Powered Solar Tracker Technology

Under the Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) vision, 95% of Nextracker’s tracker components are now manufactured domestically, reinforcing resilient supply chains and promoting technology localization. The company continues to hire across engineering, manufacturing, and customer support functions, contributing to India’s green job ecosystem.

Accelerating Innovation and Energy Independence

Nextracker’s investment aligns with India’s vision to lead the global energy transition through self-reliance, innovation, and clean energy growth.

“Nextracker is advancing India’s solar future with cutting-edge, localized technology,” said Subrahmanyam Pulipaka, CEO, National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI). “Such forward-looking investments in solar tracker innovation will help India meet its clean energy goals.”

As India positions itself as the third-largest solar market globally, Nextracker’s milestones reflect the transformative potential of merging global expertise with local innovation.
